The Horror Writers Association have announced the titles to be included in their Bram Stoker Award Preliminary Ballot. I reviewed quite a few of this years suggested works, but these shoulders of mine rub a tad bit closer to two titles, both in the Superior Achievement in a Poetry Collection category. My artwork graces the covers of Rich Ristow’s Wood Life and Wrath James White’s Vicious Romantic. I am thrilled for both authors and wish them the best of luck.

“Due to irreconcilable differences, Scott Colbert and Rich Ristow are no longer in business together.”
As such, I will be severing my ties with the publisher, effective immediately. That in turn means that my occult detective collection, That Olde Black Magick, is homeless. What does that mean exactly? Well, some of the stories you’ll find posted here on The Occult Detective, others just might find their way into print elsewhere.
What can I say? I enjoyed my short tenure with Bandersnatch. Rich Ristow was a terrific editor and good friend throughout. I am extremely proud of the work we did together.
As one door closes, another opens.
Stay tuned… it’s really just starting.
