October at last…
Finally, October. My favorite month of the year within my favorite season. The leaves are already changing, the heat of summer is gone, and Hallowe’en decorations litter the landscape.
This is always a big month for us, the highlight being Connor’s birthday on the 9th, and this year especially so as he bids his pre-teen years farewell.
So, what else have I got planned? Trips to Fishers Renaissance Faire, Mississinewa 1812, and jaunts out to the Goose Creek Demon Circle, Taylor Creek Indian Cemetery, and another dip into the Odd Fellows.
Of course, there’ll be writing and editing all month long, on my Liber Monstrorum Chronicles most assuredly. Watch for flash fiction to be posted when the mood strikes and stars align, and I have a fair number of reviews to get to before October gives way to November.
There will be a couple of Dungeons & Dragons sessions and copious playtesting of OCCULT DETECTIVE: The Roleplaying Game.
Horror movies will be watched, particularly The Lady in White, Sleepy Hollow, The Night Stalker, and The Devil Rides Out.
Kim and I are currently reading Stephen King’s Bag of Bones, but I’ll also be scaring up some short fiction, with a more focused attention on occult detectives, especially those found in the works of Robert E. Howard.
We’ll be hitting Hainlen’s Orchard, the local Pumpkin Patch, and maybe a corn maze and haunted house.
I’m really looking forward to Greg Mitchell’s Dracula vs the Great White Shark which should be released any day now.
Most of all, I’m just thrilled another Witching Season is upon us, another Bobtober to be celebrated.
Happy October everyone!
