Rest In Peace, Brent. I love you, brother.

brent2CONVERSE- Robert “Brent” Smith, 48, passed away on Jan. 27, 2015 in his Converse home. Brent was born in Marion on May 17, 1966. He was the eldest of two children born to Robert B. and Barbara A. (Slaughter) Smith.

Brent was a 1984 graduate of Oak Hill High School and a 1994 graduate of Ball State University, where he earned a chemistry degree. He formally worked as a chemist for Delco in Kokomo. Later, he used his carpentry talents to build homes. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, playing Dungeons and Dragons, target shooting and being outside camping and relaxing around a campfire. He also liked to travel and was fortunate to have traveled to Europe on two occasions. Jimmy Buffet and The Grateful Dead were his favorite musical talents and he enjoyed any great Turner Classic Movie with a happy ending. Most of all Brent loved being with his family and friends and was anxiously awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild, baby Harper.
