Re: Permuted Press
Anyone remember this little announcement?
Brendan Deneen and Bob Freeman’s UNDERHILL, the story of a group of criminals who break into a storage space to steal a priceless antique, only to discover a hidden basement under the facility that harbors unspeakable horrors, pitched as THE SCORE meets PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, to Michael Wilson at Permuted Press.
I’m assuming you caught the last two words in the above Publishers Marketplace missive.
Permuted. Press.
Not up to speed? Gabrielle Faust had something to say about it. So did R. Thomas Riley. Even my pal Brian Keene took umbrage.
So, where do I stand? I stand with the authors. That means I’m cancelling my contract with Permuted Press. It was a soul-searching decision, especially considering UNDERHILL was exempt from the “ebook only” edict.
But right is right.
