Shadows Over Skyrim, Game of Fathers

cairnwood coverI spent this past weekend (and this morning) poring diligently over the galley proof of Shadows Over Somerset, all in an effort to ensure that the relaunch of the Cairnwood Manor saga is aligned properly.

The cover and interior art is fantastic. The typesetting and interior design is spot on. And, I believe all the i’s have been crossed and t’s dotted.

We’re near the endgame now… and I’m excited to see it reach, what I hope is a hungry audience.

Seventh Star Press and Stephen Zimmer have been tremendously helpful and generous. I couldn’t ask for a better production team. Special thanks need to be offered to Rodney Carlstrom for his back-breaking editorial hand.

This past Sunday also happened to be Father’s Day.

Kim and Connor made it a special day, indeed. I was treated to breakfast in bed, followed by a game of Skyrim and Disney Infinity. Plus we watched the first half of Return of the King and capped the night off with the Game of Thrones finale.

The ending of another season of Game of Thrones is bittersweet. The finale was spectacular, especially the battle between Brienne and The Hound, Arya’s fare thee well (or not), Hodor vs the Ghost of Ray Harryhausen, Stannis’ arrival North of The Wall, and, of course, Tyrion’s Father’s Day present to Tywin Lannister.

More Return of the King and Skyrim tonight. More writing and editing on the horizon. The release of Shadows Over Somerset looms large. And Gen Con is coming up fast.

2014 is shaping up to be one helluva year.
