My Review of Defensive Occultism
I was recently contacted by Robert Francis P. Rubin, the author of Defensive Occultism: A Handbook to Occult Investigation and Supernatural Protection, on twitter and offered a copy of his book. I, of course, accepted his offer and, after an exchange of emails, received a pdf copy within an hour. I wasted no time diving in and was immediately impressed by the breadth and sincerity of the work.
It’s a subject that has been near and dear to my heart. In fact, I wrote a short essay for the Indiana Paranormal Alliance on this very topic just a few years back.
Investigating the paranormal and delving into the occult can be fraught with dangers. Defensive Occultism expertly sheds light on a myriad of preternatural entities and offers sound and practical solutions toward protecting oneself from those unseen forces lurking in the shadows.
While I may not agree with every point, this is a well written treatise and one I cannot recommend highly enough.
Defensive Occultism: A Handbook to Occult Investigation and Supernatural Protection by Robert Francis P. Rubin is available through Amazon for less than $20. If you’ve an interest in investigating the paranormal, or are a serious student of magic and the occult, then this book needs to have a place on your bookshelf.
