Some people walk in the rain…
…others just get wet.
Well, this past weekend, we walked in the rain. And the mud.
We had a great time, despite the inclement weather. Friday night we joined my wife’s kin at their campsite in the Mississinewa Reservoir, then again on Saturday. While they strolled the campground for the annual Trick-or-Treat Fall Festival event, I tended the fire and spent time with a good book, The New View Over Atlantis. Pleasant gave way to thrilling when the storms rolled in and we all threw in together breaking camp while Mother Nature battered us with her autumnal fury.
Sunday, Kim, Connor, and I made for Fishers and another annual event, the Fishers Renaissance Faire. Again, Mother Nature decided to rain on our proverbial parade, but we made the most of it, and so did the performers. I was thrilled to see Knights of Valour in action, and they braved the storm to treat us to a masterful jousting demonstration. All in all, a fantastic trip and one we’ll make again next year, rain or shine.
Come evening, Conn and I tried our hand at the Harry Potter Trading Card Game and had a ball, then we joined Kim on the couch for some Once Upon A Time.
An enchanting evening to cap off a magical weekend with the promise of even more to come.
This Hallowe’en Season is already shaping up to be one of the best I’ve ever had and we’ve many more days ahead of us.
