All Hallow’s Storm
Oh, Hallowe’en, how I love thee.
Big fun for the Freeman Clan this past weekend. I already posted about the spooktacular Hallowe’en Party we attended Friday night. On Saturday we kept things rolling by hitting The Pumpkin Walk in nearby Sweetser , then, on Sunday night, we made a bonfire of felled willow branches and I read Poe by the fire as the full moon rose overhead.
Here we are on Monday morning, with All Hallow’s Eve but two days away, and all eyes are on the East Coast as Sandy bears down on her. I’ve a lot of friends out that way and I worry for their safety. This is my favorite time of year. It saddens me to have it tempered by the threat of this so called “Frankenstorm”. But I’m also a little bit jealous. Anyone who knows me knows that I love storms, the more wicked and nasty the better. Well, Sandy’s a Perfect Storm, dangerous and foreboding. My heart goes out to everyone in her path, but I look forward to hearing the stories you’ll all have to share once she’s done rattling her bones.
Stay strong, keep your heads down, and your smokes dry, my friends.
We’ll keep the bonfires of Samhain lit for you.
